We provide generational eye care, from pediatrics to seniors, assessing your unique visual demands and providing tailored treatment to reach your highest ocular health potential.
We work and live in the community, alongside our patients, giving us a personal relationship with the success and challenges they experience. At Tawas Bay Eye Care we forward our collective skills, knowledge and expertise to each member of our practice, giving patients the tools they need to make informed decisions on their eye care.

Meet the Team

Crystal Rumenapp, O.D.
Dr. Crystal graduated from Oscoda as a native owl and achieved her bachelors from Grand Valley State University. During her undergraduate studies she obtained her CNA license and built a strong respect for quality of life and whole body health management. After graduating from the Michigan College of Optometry she returned home and continues to provide care for her community. Dr. Crystal enjoys being on the water and spending time with her many pets.

Julie Jones, Licensed Optician
Julie graduated from Oscoda while her father was stationed at Wurtsmith AFB. After graduation she traveled the country, and internationally, as a military spouse and parent. She attended the University of Las Vegas for Opticianry and obtained her board certification. Julie returned to the area in 2013 and has worked at Tawas Bay Eye Care since. She has in-depth knowledge of optical materials and a deep respect for our patients.

Krystal Shellenbarger
Krystal graduated from Boyne City and moved to the area in 2012. She started at Tawas Bay Eye Care in 2023 and quickly finished her basic practical training for opticians at Ferris State University. Krystal is a great conversationalist and enjoys customizing frame and material selections to meet the individual needs of our patients. Outside of the office, Krystal and her family enjoy participating in community and church events.
